Flu Season is Here

1.  The single best way to reduce the risk of flu and complications is the flu vaccine.
LISA Academy has partnered with the Arkansas Department of Health and conducted flu clinics for all of our campuses.  Flu vaccines are available at local pharmacies, your child's physician's office, and the local health units.

If your student tests positive for the flu or another communicable disease please notify your campus nurse.

2.  Stay home when you are sick.
This will help prevent the spread of illness to others.  If your student has a temperature of 99.9 or above without medication or is experiencing any other significant symptom(s) of illness please have them assessed before returning to school.  Students who are sent
home with an illness must be fever and symptom-free for 24 hours before returning.

3.  Cover your mouth and nose. Cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.  Flu viruses are mainly spread by droplets made when people cough, sneeze, or talk.

4.  Hand hygiene.  Wash your hands often with soap and water.  If soap and water are not available, an alcohol based hand rub is permissible.

5.  Avoid touching your face. Germs can be spread when a person touches something that is contaminated with germs and then touches his or her eyes, nose, or mouth.
